About Alpha Institute of Ministry

Vision & Mission

The visionary leadership of the Alpha Institute of Ministry (AIM) desires to restore biblical subject matter to Christian leadership and ministry by teaching basic Bible content as well as the essential elements of leadership and Christian service. The Institute’s mission is to assist the brightest young men and women to become a “burning and shining light” to their generation. Since “alpha” is the brightest star in the constellation and ALPHA is also a biblical reference to Christ, the founders believe that the brightest young Christians should be the first to be trained in Christian service and practical ministry. This is to be done by: learning the foundational contents of the Bible; understanding the essentials of Christian service; and working with local churches and non-profit, faith-based organizations in the advancement of both social and spiritual services to the family, the church and the community.

Complement not Compete

The primary objective of AIM is to complement, and not to compete with, existing local church training programs and educational institutions that train individuals for Pastoral Ministry. AIM should be seen as an “alpha” institution which recruits young Christians and new converts in order to initiate their preparation for the Christian service and practical ministry that is the call and obligation of every convert to Christianity. It is hoped that AIM will be able to prepare students to become workers in the local church and to assist those who feel the call to general ministry to transfer credits earned at AIM to a degree granting institution for further education. In this regard, the founders of AIM see the program of study as a “feeder” and “recruiter” for established institutions that can further equip students for Pastoral or Missionary Service.

Curriculum Delivery Strategy

The Institute offers a Course of Study through a sound educational delivery system using best practices based on the content of a course and the maturity of the student, such as: tutorials, workshops, class-based instruction, study groups, self-study and independent readings. All students shall have dialog and support through a mentoring and coaching strategy. The emphasis is on “facts-based learning” and “using” the acquired information to answer questions and solve problems related to daily leadership and Christian service in the marketplaces of life. The ultimate objective of the AIM Course of Study is to both inform and develop moral leadership and unselfish service to others. Students are taught to “buy up” each and every opportunity to advance the cause of moral excellence and spiritual influence in their daily lives.

The Institute Offers

• Eight (8) OT content courses with twenty-five (25) credits.
• Five (5) NT content courses with twenty- five (25) credits.
• Eight (8) Christian service and practical ministry courses with twenty-five (25) credits.
•  An Internship for a Certificate in Christian Service.
